A dental emergency includes severe tooth pain, a knocked-out tooth, a broken or cracked tooth, swelling or infection, uncontrolled bleeding, a lost crown or filling causing pain, or any injury affecting your teeth, gums, or jaw.

Handle the tooth by the crown (not the root), gently rinse it with water if it's dirty, and try to place it back into the socket if possible. If not, store it in milk or saliva and contact our office immediately. The sooner you receive treatment, the greater the chance of saving the tooth.

Even a small crack or chip should be evaluated as soon as possible. Without treatment, the tooth may become more vulnerable to infection, additional damage, or pain.
